Through nuanced storytelling and thought-provoking analysis, the documentary presents a vivid portrait of a nation in transition, illustrating how the Canadian Citizenship Act of 1947 has contributed to shaping Canada’s identity and fostering a more inclusive and diverse society.
Becoming Canadian presents revealing interviews with the descendants of the first official Canadian citizens and leading historians, and the use of rare archival footage offers a rich tapestry of voices and perspectives.
Becoming Canadian invites viewers to reflect on the profound social, cultural and political implications of what it means to be Canadian.
